Favorite High School Memory:

I remember Senior year the best. I remember being incredibly shy my first three years, and then my senior year at Willowbrook was so much fun! I remember watching football games, track meets, and swim meets for both Willowbrook and York, and I remember a homecoming bonfire at York.

What have you done since leaving high school?

After graduating from Willowbrook, I went to NIU and graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Ed. in 1964. I married my husband, John, that same summer and taught one year in Niles, Ill., before moving to Colorado where I was a stay-at-home-Mom until my youngest was in school full time. John was also an educator, predominantly teaching high school Science/Physics for 30+ years. It was a position for John, with Cherry Creek School Dist., that brought us to Colorado.
My teaching career in Littleton Public Schools included classroom teaching in grades 3, 4 and 5. I also spent 4 years as a Teacher On Special Assignment in the areas of Science, Math and Curriculum/Instruction/Assessment, and then I completed my 22-year career in Littleton as an Elementary School Principal. Each step of the way was exciting and challenging, and I wouldn't have changed one minute of it. In May of 2010, I will have been "retired" for 10 years.

Current Interests:

Currently I am supervising Student Teachers for Metroplolitan State College of Denver, and teaching a class for Metro on Substitute Teaching. I love it! Supervising the Student Teachers keeps me current with concepts and trends in Education, and allows me to be in classrooms with kids!

I am also very involved with the Bega, Australia/Littleton, Colorado Sister City Organization. Bega and Littleton became sister cities 50 years ago, and the wonderful friendships and organizational relationships have been maintained "across the pond" for all that time. John and I have been to the Saphire Coast of Australia twice, and as their current president, I will lead a delegation there in March of 2011. It's an amazing place.

Another piece of my life revolves around my husband's involvement in Vintage Car racing. Those of you out there interested in old car restorations or in racing, will understand the time commitment. John has restored and raced many cars over the years, including a Jaguar E-type, but is currently maintaining and racing, with three other drivers, three Austin Healey Sprites and a Datsun 510. Lots of time, effort (blood, sweat, but very little tears.) go into this 'hobby' each year. No trophies, no endorsements, just a whole lot of fun!

Most Memorable Experience Since High School:

I've had so many wonderful experiences in my life, I truly feel blessed.
Some of the most memorable have been the births of our grandchildren! We are a close family, and all have gathered in 'waiting rooms' across the front range, to welcome each new little one!

One Thing I Have Done Since High School That Would Surprise My Classmates:

I raced a vintage race car for a year, and autocrossed a Sunbeam Alpine! FUN!

Things That I Haven’t Done as of 2011, But Would Still Like To Do. Record when you do them plus comments.

I'd like to take a road trip on old Route 66. Stopping in the small towns and just seeing that part of America.
I'd also like to take a Paddleboat cruise down the Mississippi River.
