Favorite High School Memory:

The basketball season our senior year. It was such a wonderful time with many good friends (who I haven't seen in '50' years!).
Dating a cheerleader that became my wife of 47 years and my best friend!

I remember the many times that we broke into the Elmhurst College gym to play basketball for hours!!!

What have you done since leaving high school?

B.S. in Education and Master's in Education at Northern Illinois University.

Coached Track and Field/C.C. for 36 years. The last 23 years at Illinois State University.

I enjoyed making two Track and Field videos that still sell nationally. I had to be talked into doing them, however when it was all said and done, it turned out to be fun and profitable. (In the videos I had hair,
which I don't have now!)

Current Interests:

Working hard on my golf game. Diminishing skills with advancing age has prompted me to spend way too much money on improved equipment. I'm praying for more advancing technology to offset the diminishing skills. (No hope!)

I'm involved in the Gideon Ministry, supplying Bibles to motels, hospitals, and others.

I enjoy speaking at Track and Field clinics.

Most Memorable Experience Since High School:

Marriage to Sue. She's the love of my life and my best friend!

The great coaching experiences with so many highly successful athletes. (41 All-Americans - 3 NCAA Champions - 84 athletes who are now coaching High School Track and Field). The four Hall of Fame's that I was blest to be inducted into.
National High School Coach of the Year and NCAA Division I National Coach of the Year.

One Thing I Have Done Since High School That Would Surprise My Classmates:

I don't think I've done anything that would be considered surprising.

Things That I Haven’t Done as of 2011, But Would Still Like To Do. Record when you do them plus comments.

Be an Indianapolis "500 "race car driver, or Chef, or archaeologist.

Other Comments:

I'm looking forward to this reunion. Heart disease is waging a great battle in my life. I've had a heart attack (1990), quadruple by-pass surgery (1994), and a pace-maker (2003). I know I won't make it to the 100 year reunion.
